You dont imagine how maschine could grow if maschine were open-source (of course maintained and directed always by the NI team). And see how NI uses this forum to see whan people is requesting: SMP, time strecth, upgrades in browser, MIDI improvements, etc etc things to make a better product (thanks NI). See for example how maschine changed from the first release and the 1.6 version. And like everything, it has disadvantages (but, in general is like everything in life). This "all software" design has the huge advantage to make easy and reliable upgrades through the time. I mean: everything is software (the firmware is dinamically loaded when connected to a computer WITH the maschine drivers installed).
I personally think that one of the NI maschine design goal is to make a "zombie" hardware. All the sample editing tools found in typical samplers. 100% control from the hardware without using a mouse.Ģ. And we will continue to make our feature requests known:ġ. NI will implement what they feel needs to be included. So I would stop taking personal shots at people because you don't agree. An there are numerous more requests that would make Maschine simply amazing. Now we have something similar to the MPCs SIMULT Pads with the Pad Link feature.īottom line, the feature requests of forum members have made it a better product. Again, we were met with all the BS about it not being an MPC, blah, blah. Me along with many other forum members complained about the lack of drum layering in Maschine.
Now we have VST hosting and Maschine is pretty much a workstation now. Some of the biggest Maschine supporters (such as F Major) was debating that Maschine wasn't a workstation and didn't need certain things. I remember when forum members were suggesting VST hosting features. Our feature requests are important to us regardless of the way some of you feel. Just because you don't agree with the numerous feature requests by forum members it doesn't change the fact that many of us still want the improvements. First, I can't recall anyone claiming that an MPC is a complete product nor does it have to be.
